Birthdays Now

Soon it’ll be his birthday.

But no one is home to celebrate.

In their corners, far away,

specific time, don’t be late.

On our phones this will stay

the only way to celebrate.

Does it make me sad, this way?

Well, it’s how we do birthdays now.
